Coachingle Technologies Private Limited (“Coachingle”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), registered in India, operates the website coachingle.com and the Coachingle mobile and web applications (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access or use our Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform immediately.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, and password (stored as a cryptographic hash; we never store plaintext passwords). For OAuth sign-in, we receive your name and email from Google or GitHub.
- Student Profile: Education level, grade/year, competitive exams, subjects, learning goals, and preferred learning style — provided during onboarding.
- User-Generated Content: Topics you study, questions you ask, answers you write, images you upload (e.g., Snap & Learn photos), and feedback or ratings you provide.
- Payment Information: When you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Razorpay (for INR transactions) or Stripe (for USD/GBP transactions). We do not store your credit/debit card numbers, UPI IDs, or bank details. We receive only a transaction reference, amount, and payment status.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device & Browser Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifier, screen resolution, and timezone — used for security, analytics, and device session management.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, generation history (content types created), session duration, quiz scores, mastery levels, and learning patterns.
- Cookies: Essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party marketing cookies.
1.3 Information from Anonymous Users
You may use certain features (e.g., QuickCram) without creating an account. In such cases, we assign a randomised visitor identifier stored in your browser's local storage. This identifier is not linked to your real identity and is used solely to enforce usage limits and enable credit transfer if you later create an account.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Service Delivery: To generate AI-powered study content (videos, cheatsheets, audio summaries, comics, mind maps, quizzes, flashcards) personalised to your academic level and learning style.
- Learning Intelligence: To track your mastery levels, identify weak topics, generate personalised recommendations, and power the adaptive learning engine.
- Payments & Subscriptions: To process purchases, manage subscription credits, enforce plan limits, and issue receipts.
- Communications: To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, payment confirmations). We do not send unsolicited marketing emails unless you opt in.
- Security: To detect fraud, enforce rate limits, manage device sessions (single-device policy for paid subscribers), and prevent abuse.
- Product Improvement: To analyse aggregated, anonymised usage patterns for improving AI models and product features. Individual study content is not used for model training without explicit consent.
3. AI Content Generation & Data Processing
When you use our AI features, your input (topic, subject, uploaded images) is processed by the following AI service providers to generate content:

Text generation (cheatsheets, quizzes, storyboards, evaluations)
Meta Llama (via Azure)
Mind map structure generation
These providers process your input data in accordance with their respective privacy policies. We do not share your personal identity (name, email) with AI providers — only the content of your study requests.

5. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is permanently erased within 30 days.
- Generated Content: AI-generated videos, audio files, and images are stored temporarily and may be automatically deleted after 7 days. Cached data (storyboards, outlines) expires after 7 days.
- Anonymous Visitor Data: Visitor identifiers and associated usage data are retained for up to 90 days.
- Payment Records: Transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax and accounting regulations.
6. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, India) and applicable international data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data held by us
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Request erasure of your personal data
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- File a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

7. Data Security
- Passwords are stored using bcrypt cryptographic hashing (12 salt rounds)
- All data in transit is encrypted via TLS 1.3
- Payment data is handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant processors (Stripe, Razorpay)
- Device session management enforces single-device policy for paid subscribers
- Generated content includes forensic trace codes for content protection and leak detection
- Role-based access controls (RBAC) restrict data access to authorised personnel only
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is designed for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@coachingle.com and we will promptly delete such data.
For users aged 13–18, we recommend parental guidance when using AI-powered features.
9. International Data Transfers
Our AI service providers may process data in jurisdictions outside India (including the United States and the European Union). Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses and data processing agreements with each provider.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or product features. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 15 days before the changes take effect.
